FAQ
How much will my video production cost?
Many factors affect the cost of a digital video production; length, format,
effects, graphics, timeline, location and overall complexity. Simple projects
could cost as little as $25 per minute of finished product whereas very
sophisticated projects could cost $500 or more per minute of finished product.
It is best to meet to discuss the details of your project in order to establish
an accurate cost estimate. Camera shoots and editing can also be billed at
hourly rates starting at $50 per hour.
What kind of equipment will be used?
DVision uses only professional quality equipment including:
- Canon and Sony broadcast quality 3-chip digital camcorders
- Sennheiser wired microphones
- Lectrosonics wireless microphones
- Lowel lighting
- All digital non-linear editing systems
How is a digital video produced?
The 3 major phases of any video production are pre production, shooting and editing.
It is very important to spend sufficient time working on the pre production phase to
clearly define the scope and requirements of the project so the finished product meets
your needs. Once the required video and audio footage has been obtained, DVision will
then work in the editing suite to produce the finished video. The production is then
transferred to the media type required by the client. Master archive copies can also
be safely stored at our studio.
What will I receive when the project is complete?
This depends on your needs… digital masters, digital copies, DVD, digital tape, VCD
and VHS are all available. Generally we provide a limited number of media pieces.
If you need large scale duplication we recommend you go to a media transfer/production
facility.
